How do you get unstuck?

I run. My brain seriously works so much better when I'm moving. If I could jog and type, I would double my work speed. Because that is when my WIP starts to move by itself without me manipulating it. And my WIP is so much better at it than me.

How do you work out the kinks? How do you get unstuck?

  1. By doing something else. Or talking my way through the issue. Half the time I'll get the idea while I'm in the shower.

So much easier to find a solution when I'm not thinking about it. Writing's weird that way.

Oh, and thanks for the contest entry!

  2. Running is the only type when I can't think (just trying to breathe).

  3. I've done some good plotting on the treadmill, but mostly when I'm stuck I just force myself to keep writing. I have a barebones outline too so I can move onto the next scene if I need to.

  4. Mattew-Yeah I feel like that too. I'm really creative when I'm not trying to be.

Bane- lol. Biking does that to me.

Stephanie-I need some sort of outline too. At least just to keep from floating away.
